"

Doesn't it feel strange to walk into such a paradise and connecting with these heavenly beings who are allowed to roam and live as nature intended, KNOWING their future while they don't, that this is just a phase in a human-engineered fate? Each one randomly selected to be here rather than in the sanctuary of the Vale de Zebro....I experience this strange mixture of omnipotence and impotence when i drive to work and see the young steers they turn out every spring on the Stanford hills, playing, bucking, butting heads, walking in files, sleeping and eating utterly enjoying themselves and oblivious to why they are there and where they are bound to end up.

The Vale de Zebro: a true oasis, so beautiful. Just looking at those images I feel the urge to just drop down under a tree and spend the night.

Oh and that wine box, what a find! a perfect container to stash away the impressions of your trip and take them home as memories.evahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12352450297889697710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6572142164579536708.post-41724520509472430162012-02-15T17:55:02.294-05:002012-02-15T17:55:02.294-05:00So well described, I have been reading all your tr...So well described, I have been reading all your travel posts and feel I could be there. I have indeed been to Portugal - in November when it was not quite so hot - the photo of the tiled building brought me right back.

Those two bachelor horses amongst the trees made the most exquisite photograph.Máirehttp://poniesathome.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6572142164579536708.post-56110770405095924182012-02-15T16:10:57.152-05:002012-02-15T16:10:57.152-05:00Thank you for another chapter in your travelog. Thanks for the photos of the town, river, and the special equines who exist tucked away on the island and the Valle. The scorching sun and humidity didn't deter you at all nor your hosts -- so I have decided you are all 18 years old. No arguments, please!

Janet FergusonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
