Hi,

I have been catching up on your videos. Of course the horses are the stars of the show. I did not realize how beautifully they move along their way and how quickly they respond to any alerts! The colors in the Mares of Autumn 2017 are fantastic! They have a lot of variability in their coloration as individuals. Also the stallion chasing the birds is so well done! He really thinks about it it for a while before heading out to do his "clearances." Are the mares in the next field perhaps his chosen audience? A great way to make your own fun and stay in shape. My parents had two Gordon Setters who to my dismay had the same instincts to keep the birds in the air. Not sure they are supposed to do that! Have some dignity, Gordons! Meanwhile, many more videos to see here and I thank you. I have been reading about poison legumes out there such as Rattlebean, which I just discovered growing in a dune environment in FL. Rattlebean is native to the US. Apparently their leaves and flowers have such a foul bitter taste that the cattle on those pastures when the plants are green soon learn to avoid them. However, the uninitiated, placed on the land after the season is over and the dried "beans" are still on the plant can eat them and die rather quickly! And here's an interesting statistic to ponder: Of the millions of birds species we have lost since the 1970's, over 80% of them are migrating birds. Habitat is so important. Best wishes for the New Year to you and yours.

Happy New Year to you, too, “Opinionated”!
I feel my role now, at this stage of the game, is not to engage in conservation activities that are manipulated by humans, whose (well meaning) interference is often deleterious due to its inability to see the bigger picture and the unfathomable interconnectiveness of all things. I live now as an observer and supporter of what is and what unfolds as the ever-changing flow of Nature adapts. Many thanks for viewing and commenting! I do need to make more blog entries…
